Product Details
With up to ~260 Tbps via 648 400 GbE ports, the Cisco 8800 Series delivers breakthrough density and efficiency with the extensive scale, buffering, and feature capabilities common to all the Cisco 8000 Series of routers. It includes three chassis ?C the 8808, 8812, and 8818 ?C to meet a broad set of network and facility requirements.
In addition to reducing per-port power relative to previous generations, the Cisco 8800 Series enables even greater savings by reducing the number of routers required in a given location ?C potentially removing entire layers from a network. This results in a significant reduction in the total number of router port and optics, one of the top contributors to network costs.
