Cisco 2800 Series Integrated Services Routers: End-of-Life Overview

The Cisco 2800 Series Integrated Services Routers, now end-of-sale and end-of-life, were designed to address the needs of small to medium-sized businesses and enterprise branch offices. These routers delivered wire-speed performance for secure, concurrent services across a variety of applications, including data, security, voice, video, and wireless.

Engineered for versatility and scalability, the 2800 Series supported multiple T1/E1 connections and could handle up to 1,500 VPN tunnels and as many as 96 Cisco IP phone users. This made them a robust solution for businesses requiring secure, high-performance multi-service routing in a single, integrated platform.

While no longer available, the Cisco 2800 Series played a key role in enabling secure and reliable branch connectivity for distributed enterprise networks.
